USCCB Updated Resources for Health Care Reform
Thank you to everyone who advocated for genuine health care reform that will protect the life and dignity of all people. Because of your work, the House adopted the Stupak amendment maintaining the current laws barring federal funding for elective abortions. The House bill now maintains the federal prohibition on abortion funding; maintains conscience protections on abortion; offers adequate affordability and coverage provisions for low-income families; and protects immigrants.
The next step in the process is for the full Senate to debate a health care bill. Please use and circulate the updated bulletin insert and the pulpit prayer and announcement. To send an email to your senators, visit the Action Center at www.usccb.org/action.
