Minnesota Statewide Immigration Sunday 2010
Minnesota’s Catholic Bishops are inviting all parishes throughout Minnesota to celebrate Minnesota Statewide Immigration Sunday on the Feast of Our Lord’s Epiphany, January 3, 2010. Parishes are encouraged to incorporate the music, symbols, signs and languages of our immigrant, migrant and refugee sisters and brothers into their liturgies, and to organize immigration-related educational activities for children, youth and adults. As Minnesota’s Catholic Bishops shared in their December 12, 2008 Statement on Immigration, Welcoming Our Immigrant Sisters and Brothers, “[I]n our pursuit of justice, we must work together to transform hearts, minds and communities.”
The MCC created a variety of resources, which can be downloaded below, to help parishes fully celebrate Minnesota Statewide Immigration Sunday:
Minnesota Statewide Immigration Sunday Liturgy Guide: This Guide will help parishes enrich their worship celebrations on Minnesota Statewide Immigration Sunday and includes: prayer card; catholic social teaching on immigration; liturgy guide; and reading reflections.
